Reflection on knowledge and competencesin the teaching practice of distance learning

The present wok has as purpose to analyze the knowledge and competences in the online teaching practice of a Microeconomics course. The research approach is qualitative with a case study design; it is constructivist, interpretativeand transversal.As techniques, thefocus group and interviewwere used. The information unit defined by four instructors of the subject and a coordinator. For the analysis and data processing, ATLAS.tiwas used in the construction and interpretation. The obtained results affirm two essential categories in online teaching practice: knowledge is transformed to redefine competenciesof teachers, and disciplinary and pedagogical training define teaching practice. Finally, this study emphasizes that teaching practice in distance education requires training in pedagogical, disciplinary, technological and research competencies in order to have an impact on student learning.
