Abstract

Strategic planning in higher education highlights statistics as vital for evidence-based decisions. The objective of the study was to determine the influence of statistical culture on the strategic planning carried out by the managers of the Specialized University of the Americas (UDELAS) for decision making. The research was classified as quantitative, descriptive and non-experimental, with a sample of 40 UDELAS managers. The questionnaire was used as an instrument to collect the data. The study showed that a 51.1% increase in statistical literacy is directly related to a similar improvement in strategic planning. This relationship supported by a positive, direct and moderate correlation, evidenced by a Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.5751618. The work concluded that statistical culture positively influences the strategic planning carriedout by UDELAS managers, facilitating decision making.
