Abstract

The study was conducted with the objective of identifying the levels of perception and knowledge about gender violence among students at the headquarters of the Universidad especializada de las Américas (UDELAS). The survey was used as a research techniqueand a questionnaire was used as an appropriate instrument to collect data. The research is framed within a non-experimental design and descriptive study type with a sample of 325 students. The results show that students present an inaccurate assessment with respect to the manifestations of gender violence. In general, it is concluded that the university should design and implement training and sensitization programs considering a gender approach in the academic community.
