Abstract

Theses and undergraduate seminars have been put under observation due to various observed weaknesses, which contribute to it final quality and effective contribution to graduate profiles. It’s conducted a review of 106 undergraduate seminars of the bachelor's degree in early childhood education from a Chilean state university, through a random selection procedure and various quality indicators. It was highlighted several weaknesses around the format, readability of different sections and subsections, accuracy and type of citations, among several others. Based on collected observations, a simple corrective feedback procedure for these works is proposed, based on collected historical information and expert appreciation. It is expected to contribute to the quality of these academic products by sharing some improvement actions that will be undertaken by our department in order to thereby strengthen the development of students’ research competence.
