The study analyzes academic procrastination among undergraduate marketing students at the Autonomus University of Nayarit, focusing on its link to excessive social media use. Using a quantitative approach with a descriptive cross-sectional scope, a survey of 37 questions was conducted, collecting data from 162 students. The results indicate that 67% of respondents feel addicted to social media, which contributes to procrastination and affects their sleep quality, concentration, and emotional well-being, generating stress and anxiety. The research highlights that procrastination negatively impacts academic performance, making it crucial for students to identify the causes of their behavior and make better decisions. It is suggested to implement techniques and tools that promote self-control in social media use, allowing students to complete their academic tasks in a timely and effective manner.
