Descriptive and correlational study, with a quantitative approach and non-experimental design, which compares the profiles of students from the Online Learning Institute (INSTAL), who enter the virtual educational program "Your high school in 4 months". The course capacitates them for the national exam for high school accreditation. With information obtained from the survey applied in the Induction course, and that was answered by 3,478 students over a year, the study variables were determined. Characteristics among students were analyzed according to their secondary school of origin. Theresults found show significant differences between students who studied secondary school in a public school and those who studied in a private school. Students from private schools, compared to those from public schools, are younger, have a higher socioeconomic level and their parents have a higher education level. Better academic performance was observed in students from public secondary schools.
