Abstract

The story that most companies today are dealing with is the explosive growth of data: how to harness it, how to store it and use it to make meaningful decisions. The present research is of a mixed type and aims to perform a systematic literature review and investigate the different applications of the use of Geographic Information Systems in the commerce sector with the PRISMA methodology, together with a real vision of the industry by five of its protagonists. As a result, a universe of 197 articles in three databases was acquired and 46 articles were obtained that deal with the mentioned topic in coincidence with what was mentioned by the interviewees of the importance of geointelligence as a factor of competitive advantage in the SMEs of the commerce sector, it can be concluded that there is still research and diffusion to be done in this field of science.
