Abstract

This research seeks to know through a descriptive-correlational approach, if gender, family dynamics and sex roles are related to adopting a stance towards feminism, so the Sex Role Ideology Scale, the Family Cohesion and Adaptability Assessment Scale and Erchull's (2007) Feminist Identification Model were used to evaluate them. The sample size was 125 women and 42 men and among the most significant results, some correlations were obtained between feminist identification, gender and sex roles. As a conclusion, favorable results were found in the adoption of a more positive stance towards feminism, since the percentage of people who responded that they are not feminists is much lower than the percentage of people who support the movement, as well as very high results were obtained with respect to the belief in an egalitarian gender ideology.
