Abstract

A prevalence study was carried out in high school students of the Preparatory School No.36 dependenton the Autonomous University of Guerrero, the main objective of the research work was to determine the prevalence of self-medication in students who are enrolled in high school at the high school no. 36, the sample size was 249 students, the analysis was cross-sectional and descriptive, it was shown that 77.1 % of the total population surveyed self-medicate, the female sex does it 78.1%, while the male sex does it 75.5.%,the age with the high estprevalence is 17 years for both sexes, the female with 53.0% and the male sex 44.9%, the drugs most frequently consumed by students of high school No. 36 are NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics) , the one with thehighest prevalence of this group is paracetamol with 96.0 %, in this study it was alsoshown that the prevalence to obtain The medicines to carry out the practice of self-medication is in the pharmacy, the female sex acquires it in the pharmacy by 55.82 % while the male sex by35.74 %.
