Abstract

An analysis of public policies in Mexico corresponding to the livestock sector and specifically the dairy sector was carried out, in the period from 2018 to 2023. The objective to consider if the new policies implemented allowed the increase in milk production that entails decreasing dependence on considerable imports; The importance of evaluating the proposed policies is to verify their results in a context of substitution of neoliberal government actions. The type of study is documentary and descriptive when considering statistical and historical information on the performance of dairy sector policies seeking to describe its most outstanding and important characteristics. According to the information collected, it can be considered that the new non-neoliberal policy proposals failed to improve the sector's production capacity and imports remain at a level that is a risk to food security.
