Abstract

Overweight and obesity in adolescents have increased in recent years, affecting 38 out of 100 adolescents between 12 and 19 years old, reported by the 2018 National Health and Nutrition Survey. The objective was to carry out a systematic review to assess the programs of intervention that have been aimed at reducing anxiety and food overeating in adolescents with overweight and obesity. The search was carried out in the scientific research engines PubMed and MEDLINE-ProQuest, from 2016 to 2021. The PRISMA checklist was used, resulting in a total of 6 articles, where a heterogeneity was observed in the components of intervention times, instruments used, and control of the variables studied. It is concluded that there is a demand to implement intervention programs aimed at adolescents and follow-ups to manage relapses and behavioral changes related to anxiety and eating.
