Zoonoses from a psychosocial perspective: a review

The relationship between psychosocial factors and diseases in animals and people is an important health issue in society. However, there have not yet been enough comprehensive studies on this topic. The objective of this review was to identify and analyze studies that examine the relationship between psychosocial factors and zoonoses, through a systematic search in Pubmed from 2005 to 2023. The inclusion and exclusion of studies using the PRISMA criteria, with a result of 21 articles, in which there was similarity in the types of instruments used and the approach to the psychosocial and zoonoses. It is concluded that the number of studies is low, but those that were found showed that even without being explicit, there is a relationship between psychosocial factors and diseases in animals and people.
