Use and characteristics of ICT problem behaviors in university students

The objective of the study is to determine the use and characteristics of the problematic behaviors of new technologies in university students in the city of H. Matamoros, Tamaulipas. Methodology: The population was 1,125 students and a sample of 350, in apublic university, the instrument used was the "Questionnaire on the Problematic Use of New Technologies" (UPNT) with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.757, the study design was descriptive, transversal. Results: it was found that the use of the internet and mobilephones were the ones that showed a greater presence of problematic use behaviors, while video games and television presented less problems derived from their use. It is concluded that university students present a more problematic use of the internet and cell phone, than the use of video games and television
